During my first Fringe Circuit appearance at a festival in Adelaide Australia, I did not have too many folks showing up to see me. An unknown performer from the States is not exactly a draw down there, even though they find my accent sexy and exotic. I kept at it and word eventually got around, though I did have a show where only two people showed up. I still did the whole thing, including the crowd surfing at the end, getting them to hold me up and rock me like a baby. The next day I'd won a Best Cabaret Award from the festival, the two audience members had both been judges. Never give up, you don't know who might be watching, or what it might do for them.
